For years I sat on both sides of the table, as a candidate sweating through onsite loops, and later as a hiring manager interviewing hundreds of people for engineering, product, and go-to-market roles.
The pattern was painfully consistent. Smart, qualified candidates would walk in, freeze on the first behavioral question, ramble through a story without structure, and walk out knowing it didn't go well. Meanwhile, candidates who had practiced out loud, even just a few times, performed dramatically better. Same skills. Same resume. Wildly different outcomes.
The traditional options were broken. Online courses were passive theory. Career coaches charged $200 to $400 an hour, putting real preparation out of reach for most job seekers. And practicing with a friend felt awkward, low-pressure, and nothing like the real thing.
I'll never forget a candidate who reached out months after a tough rejection. He'd finally landed an offer, but only after three more rounds of bombing similar interviews. The skills had been there the whole time. He just needed reps.
